The Premier Soccer League yesterday announced that the Mvela Golden League matches that were meant to have kicked off at the weekend will be rescheduled, according to Andrew Dipela, general manager: football, yesterday.

The reason for the postponement was because of the pending legal action taken by PJ Stars, which was heard in the Johannesburg high court on Friday.

Stars were relegated from the MGL after being found guilty of fielding four improperly registered players in 11 matches between October and December last year.

They were then ordered to forfeit nine points from the two matches they won and the three matches they drew.

Said Dipela yesterday: "PJ Stars lost their bid in court to have the fixtures stopped. We will decide on dates for the matches that were to be played this past weekend." - Sowetan
