Boxing South Africa is finally charging Krish Naidoo, who was suspended on July 27.

Naidoo, who served as general manager, had been in the office for only two days. He had just returned from a 14-month suspension on full pay while BSA was still investigating him.

BSA's chief executive Bongani Khumalo announced on Wednesday that their investigations had been completed.

"The findings of the investigations show that there are serious allegations of misconduct against Mr Naidoo.

"As this matter issub judiceI can only, at this stage, reveal that Mr Naidoo will face, among others, the charges that he failed to comply with, or contravened the Public Finance Management Act, regulations or legal obligations; willfully or negligently mismanaged the resources; prejudiced the administration, discipline or efficiency of BSA and performed poorly or inadequately for reasons other than incapacity," Khumalo said.

"BSA is to hold a disciplinary hearing on the said alleged misconduct on Tuesday, August 28. A detailed description of the alleged charges of misconduct and the notice to attend a disciplinary hearing were served on Mr Naidoo on Wednesday, August 15, at about 11.05am."

Naidoo confirmed having received the letter and promised to defi- nitely appear at the hearing.

His first suspension dates back to May last year. BSA could not hold him responsible for the financial chaos which crippled the boxing body, leading to the qualification of its 2005-06 financial statements by the auditor-general, and subsequently cleared him.

However, they made it clear that they might charge him at a later stage and did so.
