Motorists are likely to see the price of petrol decreasing by at least 25c a litre next month, Gary Ronald of the Automobile Association said yesterday.

Though the changes in the prices of petrol and diesel depended on the rand-dollar exchange and the price of petroleum, which are determined on the 26th of every month, Ronald predicted that the price of petrol was likely to decrease by 25c a litre.

But diesel prices were expected to remain unchanged and, if anything, Ronald said "we may look at a small increase of not more than 5c a litre".

If the association's prediction of the petrol price decrease next month is correct, motorists may get some relief though. - Isaac Moledi.
