ER24 spokesman Riana Beech said the vehicles collided head-on in Third Street in Commercia, at about 8.30am.
"The driver of the bakkie said he lost control of the vehicle when he drove through a puddle of water and into oncoming traffic," said Beech.
Three people inside the bakkie sustained head and neck injuries when they were flung into the windscreen.
The driver of the other car had to be freed from the wreck.
The injured were taken to Carstenhof Clinic. - Sapa
