Moroka Swallows, who missed second spot on the league table on goal difference last season, are determined to rebuild the side into a formidable entity for the new term.

The Birds have signed two Zambian players and are due to sign another player today.

They are James Chamanga, formerly with Bush Bucks and SuperSport United, and Hellings Mwakasungula, a Zambian national team player.

The Birds general manager Sipho Xulu said yesterday the third player they were likely to sign was Vincent Kobola, a local national Under-23 player.

Chamanga is a striker, Mwakasungula a midfielder and Kobola a defender. Chamanga and Mwakasungula have each signed a two-year contract with the option of renewal, and the Birds will sign Kobola also for two seasons.

"We've been training with them since we returned from our training camp in Germany. They have shown some glimpses of brilliance at training and we're looking forward to an exciting league campaign," said Xulu.

He said Kobola came from their development programme and had impressed coach Ian Gorowa.

"The acquisition of these three players is a step in the right direction.

"We've done well in the past five years and we're gunning for the league title," Xulu said.
