Khotso Motau has vacated the middleweight crown and is moving up to the super middleweight division where he says a newlook "Executioner" will show his true potential.

"I have outgrown the middleweight division. I always have to starve myself just to be within the limit," said Motau, whose skills are honed by Stanley Ndlovu.

He says reducing weight impacted negatively in his fight against Shawn Garnett in Canada.

"It left me dry," he said.

Motau, who looked like a zombie before that fight, tasted defeat. He had been undefeated with 11 knockouts. His normal weight is around 80kg and he says coming down to 72,58kg has been a big task.

"I first had to cut the weight down before I could even start worrying about my fitness level.

"I am starting a new chapter. I think people will see something new that they never thought I am capable of doing," said the left-handed fighter who turns 26 next month.

Motau started boxing at the age of 10. He fought in the light middleweight class in the senior amateurs.

"Even there I had weight problems and had to move up to middleweight for two years.

"I then moved down the light middleweight and turned professional in 2004," said the former Olympian who bombed out in the knockout stages of the Olympic Games in Athens.
