The authority of Botswana golfers over their counterparts from Limpopo will be a thing of the past when the two meet in a Limpopo-Botswana Golf Challenge in Gaborone on September 1 and 2.
This was a terse warning from Pat "Fingers" Moyaha, spokesman for Limpopo Eagles Golf Association (Lega), the provincial controlling body.
Speaking to Sowetan at Lega's Women's Golf Day from Mankweng, east of Polokwane, yesterday, Moyaha stressed that their golfers were more than ready to break the jinx against Botswana this time round.
"We will be meeting them for the third time since the start of this tournament in 2005 and we want to warn them that we are ready, willing and able to beat them this year," Moyaha said.
"It was very embarrassing to lose against them at home (in Polokwane) last year and we are going to Gaborone for revenge.
"We are taking 46 capable golfers to this tournament and I don't have any doubt in my mind that we will succeed in Gaborone."
He said a total of 36 golfers had already confirmed their participation and went on to urge others to register before the deadline on Wednesday next week.
