Farmers are not a security force

Allegations that white farmers are arresting illegal immigrants from Zimbabwe and handing them over to the police is, at worst, inhuman, but it is definitely cruel.

Allegations that white farmers are arresting illegal immigrants from Zimbabwe and handing them over to the police is, at worst, inhuman, but it is definitely cruel.

The claim by these farmers that the Zimbabweans damage their properties and are a threat to their livestock is inherently racist.

We are aware that if these desperate Zimbabweans were white, the same farmers would treat them with dignity and respect as they did during Zimbabwe's land seizures.

There are agencies that have the powers to arrest and detain people. White farmers are definitely not part of these organisations.

Failure by the police to arrest these farmers for breaking the law, is what puzzles me most. It is criminal for any citizen to take the law into their own hands.

For the police to allegedly cooperate with these vigilantes is not only distasteful but criminal.

There should be a thorough investigation into the farmers' actions, and action should surely be taken against them if they have broken the law.

The people of Zimbabwe are our African brothers and sisters who accommodated us during our dark days.

We should fight those taking advantage of the plight of black Zimbabweans.
