What with 2010 around the corner and everybody and their uncles already on board the fast- moving train, the crew did not want to be left at the station as happened when the BEE train first stopped at the bank and rode straight past us at this nondescript station at which we thought it would stop.

The only thing standing between us and our acquisition of the much-sought-after elite status is how we want our team to play.

And it is all because of this respect and disrespect thing ala Tottenham Hotspur and Orlando Pirates.

Some of our board members fell we need to have a disrespectful and arrogant bunch of players in order to have a team of world beaters, while some are in the Glen Hoddle and an assistant Bafana Bafana coach's camp on this aspect.

We have since decided to hold on to our R45 million rather than waste it on respectful footballers who will get us nowhere.

Give us Daniel "Sailor" Tshabalala any time. Mzansi style fo sho (Pirates 2, Spurs 1 - Vodacom Challenge 2003) and respect (Spurs 3, Pirates 0 - Vodacom Challenge 2007).
