Actors Zane Meas, Jacques Blignaut, Freedom Hadebe and Theodore Jantjies of 7de Laan are supporting an imaginative public function in Bosmont, south of Johannesburg, tomorrow between 9am and 3pm.

And everyone is invited to the Quest Flexible Staffing Solutions-organised community recruitment drive workshop at St Barnabas College at 34 Langeberg Avenue, Bosmont.

The event is open to anybody who is unemployed or was recently retrenched and wants to make career changes.

Also welcome are people eager to learn about scholarships in sectors where opportunities are still ample, such as data-capturing, call centres and bank-telling.

Those wishing to learn about the best tricks or techniques for success in job interviews or when drawing up a CV can also pick up good pointers.

Employment or staffing agents will be handing out the tips, which make the workshop a laudable community-building exercise.

lSowetan, together with the Aggrey Klaaste Nation Building Foundation, is partnering Philips in the Supply Opportunities And Achieve Results (Soar) project. Soar adopted two thriving primary schools in Newclare, south of Johannesburg. Newclare is one of the areas from which most of the workshop participants are expected to come.

l Meas, Blignaut, Hadebe and Jantjies portray interesting characters in 7de Laan which is screened on weekday evenings on SABC2.

The popular soapie tells the story of the characters and their lives, loves, laughter, tears and gossip about the bustling community of Hillside.
