Mafikizolo lead singer Nhlanhla Nciza will launch her clothing range and debut solo album at a women's workshop in Mpumalanga tomorrow.

The event is part of Women's Month celebrations and is sponsored by First National Bank and Ligwalagwala FM.

Ntfonjana Dlamini, Ligwalagwala FM's programmes manager, said their programming would focus on issues faced by women.

"We will also be promoting the theme of total citi- zen empowerment by talking to women who aspire to be leaders," said Dlamini.

Elizabeth Maepa, the chief executive of FNB's public sector banking, said the South African economy desperately needed more entrepreneurs.

"The workshop will enable more people to be financially independent and provide employment opportunities for others," said Maepa.

She said the need for capacity building in Mpumalanga had prompted FNB to initiate a forum where women could learn, interact and access valuable information to assist them as leaders and entrepreneurs.

"Since many women in the province are involved in tourism businesses, there is a strong fit between the information the local community is looking for and what the bank can offer."

She said the plan was significant considering the run-up to the 2010 Soccer World Cup.

"Our role as a national sponsor positions us to lead women entrepreneurs in the tourism industry to even greater heights," said Maepa.

O magazine's editor Thami Ngubeni will deliver a motivational talk on the experiences of being a successful and spiritual woman.

Black Like Me, the popular South African cosmetic company, will spoil lucky women with a make-over.

In an effort to raise funds for anti-women abuse initiatives, an auction featuring four Ligwalagwala FM DJs will be held.

A lucky woman will win a date with one of the hot studs and a chance to test-drive the latest C-Class Mercedes Benz.
