Women can wear anything

On the eve of women's month I am truly shocked that there are still such old-fashioned men out in Umlazi, Durban.

Stripping a woman down to her underwear simply because she was wearing a pair of trousers instead of a skirt - what century are we living in?

Men and women are equal under the constitution.

If a woman wants to wear a pair of pants no one should be allowed to stop her.

By the same token if a man wants to wear a skirt, I'm certainly not going to stand in his way.

As a matter of fact, wearing a skirt at the height of summer is so much cooler - men need to try it some time!

Women are not possessions. They are living beings and not things to be displayed or used as somebody else sees fit.

These backward men need to learn some respect and to remember that the woman was not harming or insulting them.

She was probably cold, or even protecting herself from the potential of sexual assault as pants make it harder for a man to do the dirty deed.

Or maybe she has a nice bum and she wanted to show it off!

If you don't like it don't look. And certainly don't touch!
