After passing his matric at General Smuts High School, Mzaca pursued his dream of becoming a journalist. He enrolled at Rosebank College, one of the few institutions to offer an accredited two year diploma that focuses on media studies and journalism.
"I was always interested in media and journalism. My passion started in primary school where I would borrow the teacher's tape recorder and interview friends. My mom says it started as a toddler. I would sit in front of the radio and sing along to songs and jingles," says Mzaca.
"The lecturers at Rosebank College went the extra mile in motivating students by encouraging us to work hard towards a career. While studying, I got my first job at Classic FM.
"Highlights were the practical sessions. We had to get stories and monitor television, radio, magazines and newspapers," says Mzaca.
"I particularly enjoyed having to present a radio show and design a magazine. I was on the editorial team responsible for the campus magazine and in my second year, edited the publication.
"I launched my career in my first year and have benefited by becoming self-reliant. Rosebank College equipped me with the necessary knowledge to get ahead and do it," says Mzaca.
