Usher's wedding to Tameka Foster at the weekend was scrapped because of a series of disagreements between the couple, according to reports.

The superstar was hoping to wed his pregnant fiancee on Saturday afternoon at record executive Antonio Reid's home in Long Island, New York.

But the ceremony was called off only hours before the pair were due to get married, allegedly as a result of differences between them.

It is also alleged that Usher's mother was against the impending wedding.

A source said, "Usher's mother, Jonetta Patton, is against the wedding. That is one of the main obstacles.

"They only decided two weeks ago to have a wedding. They wanted it to take place before the baby bump started showing."

But another source told People.com: "Usher changed his mind because the couple had differences about the details."

"For example, the bride wanted a barbecue, while Usher wanted renowned chef, Jean Georges, to cook.

"Foster was calling it off because she was not getting the things she wanted. The mother was calling it off. Usher was calling it off," said the source.

Usher's spokesman, Patti Webster, refused to comment on whether the couple had split or not. -Wenn
