The One World Concert at the Durban International Convention Centre on Saturday by Joyous Celebration and visiting American musician Kirk Franklin was an overwhelming success.

First up was Joyous Celebration, who set the pace for what turned out to be an evening filled with both soothing gospel sounds and energetic dance routines by both musicians and crowd which turned up at the centre.

Conducted by diminutive and talented Lindelani Mkhize, it soon became obvious that this choir had a lot to offer as it set the standard for Franklin to match. The audience sang and danced along as if there were no tomorrow.

When Franklin came on stage, the crowd held its breath to see if he could rise to the occasion, and rise he did. He soon took the concert to another exciting level.

He jumped about on stage like a man possessed, but certainly provided an evening to remember.
