The cold-blooded murder of a West Rand taxi boss campaigning to root out corruption within the local taxi association, should be condemned in the strongest terms.

The cold-blooded murder of a West Rand taxi boss campaigning to root out corruption within the local taxi association, should be condemned in the strongest terms.

Thomas Dinkwetse, deputy chairman of the Greater Kagiso Taxi Association, was shot eight times while driving in his vehicle last week.

The reason for the gruesome death was that his probe apparently went too far and had implicated the so-called "untouchables".

Dinkwetse is one of scores of owners being killed almost daily to silence their outspoken views against corruption.

Taxi associations should cooperate with the police to weed out unscrupulous taxi bosses.

These killings must be stopped.
