I am one of the people who had written off Mamelodi Sundowns in their CAF Confederations Cup clash at Loftus last week.

DRC's TP Mazembe outplayed Sundowns in the first half.

I was not impressed by the performance by Sundowns' strikers, especially Manqoba Ngwenya, pictured, in the first half. Sundowns' defence was also torn apart in the first half and allowed Mazembe to net two stunning goals.

Sundowns looked different in the second half and showed character to storm back to beat Mazembe 3-2. Sundowns' victory taught Mazembe and other teams that in football you don't celebrate before the referee blows the final whistle.
