Eighteen members of a robbery gang who killed four police officers during the Jeppestown shoot-out will today again appear in the Roodepoort magistrates' court today.

The gang includes a chain-store employee who allegedly tipped them off during their preparations to rob the supermarket in Honeydew in June last year.

They are facing charges of robbery, attempted murder and murder.

The "gang", except for the woman, Mary Maleke, allegedly robbed the supermarket in Honeydew of R38000 and stole from customers during the robbery. They then fled to their hide-out in Jeppestown.

Soon after the robbery police arrested a suspect, Thembinkosi Tshabalala, who led them to Jeppestown.

Police stormed the house in Mordaunt Street where the shoot-out took place.
