There is no doubt that soapies rule on local television screens.

Malehlohonolo Moloi of Zondi 1, Soweto, said he is a soapie addict.

"I love soapies. I watch The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of Our Lives and Generations. On Generations I love Ntombi and the romantic parts. But I feel the Zamani and Ajax characters are boring and must be cut."

Nozipho Mthembu of Orlando East said she loves watching Generations and Isidingo.

"But my favourite is Isidingo. Everything you watch there is real. Unlike Generations which is about glamour. It is very boring."

Pearl Phalatsi of Phiri said: "I love Isidingo more than Generations because of its interesting story line. Generations is too predictable."

Magobela Nyembe of Zola said he watches Isidingo because the story is straight to the point.

Themba Mtshali who lives in Denver Hostel, Benrose, said: "I do not have a television set, but I make sure to go to my friends to watch Generations, especially Karabo."

Thandi Dube-Ntombela who lives in Paradise Park, Vosloorus, said: "I used to watch Backstage and Generations. Now that Backstage is no longer flighted, I enjoy Generations and I love Queen. She really makes me laugh."
