AmaZulu will no longer go under the hammer today after the club's boss Patrick Sokhela paid Dynamos' chairman Pat Malabela an outstanding R24,2 million yesterday.
The payment brought to an end the long-running legal battle between the two parties that started when Sokhela bought the status of Dynamos for R41 million last August.
Sokhela heaved a sigh of relief yesterday that the matter has been settled.
"We are continuing with our lives at AmaZulu and I'm glad this matter is over," Sokhela said.
"I have always been positive that this matter will be settled. I assured our supporters that AmaZulu will never be auctioned.
"I thank our supporters throughout KwaZulu-Natal and elsewhere who were behind us during trying times. I can assure them that this team will remain theirs and is going nowhere. We are ready for the new season and everything will run smoothly," he added.
Alex Eliott, Malabela's lawyer, said the money was transferred into their account just after 2pm yesterday.
Malabela told Sowetan yesterday he was also happy that his running battle with Sokhela was over.
"I regret that this matter had to go to the courts but what happened in the past is history now. I wish Dr Sokhela and his team the best of luck in their campaign in the elite league," Malabela said.
Usuthu negotiated their way back to the Castle Premiership through the National First Division Platinum playoffs last month. But they should fare well next season as players will be fully focused now that the matter is over.
