Lucky Khumalo, 31, of Winterveldt, Pretoria claims he was shot in the head by police at the weekend for no apparent reason.

And further that a senior police officer tried to block his attempts to lay a charge.

Khumalo said he and two companions were walking home from a community meeting when they came across four police vehicles.

"The police opened fire on us and I was hit in the head. I fell to the ground and they just drove away.

"My companions took me to George Mukhari Hospital where the bullet was removed."

Khumalo said the Loate police in Mabopane sent him from pillar to post when he tried to open a case.

Inspector Paul Ramaloko said his complaint was receiving "the necessary attention".
