ALGIERS - Zambia scored a late equaliser against hosts Algeria to grab a 1-1 draw in Group B of the men's football tournament at the All Africa Games.

The result means Algeria finished third in the group and are out of the tournament, while Zambia are the runners-up in the table and are through to the semifinals to face Cameroon.

Clive Sichondwe scored the all-important goal for Zambia in the 88th minute after Amine Aoudia had given Algeria the lead a minute before halftime.

Guinea finished top of the group after scoring three late goals to beat Egypt 3-2. Egypt scored in the third minute through Reda Elweishy, who then doubled the lead after 68 minutes.

In a frenzied final 15 minutes, Guinea scored three times through Yady Camara, Mohamed Camara and AK Bangoura to secure the victory.

Guinea will now play Tunisia in the semifinals. Cameroon made sure of winning Group A thanks to a 2-0 win over South Africa.

In the other game in the group Tunisia finished as runners-up after drawing 1-1 with Ghana.

Tunisia opened the scoring in their game when Karim Amar found the target on 20 minutes. Emmanuel Allan scored Ghana's equaliser three minutes later.

The draw was Ghana's first point in Algeria but still left them at the bottom of the group, with South Africa finishing third in the table. The men's football tournament continues today when both semifinals will be played. - BBC
