Khanyi Dhlomo, former editor of True Love magazine, is on a quest to help women to fulfil their true potential by shaping their destinies.

She recently formed a joint venture with Media24, Ndalo Media, a media company in which she holds a 50 percent stake.

The first project that Ndalo Media is embarking upon is launching a magazine called Destiny, a glossy high-end women's monthly.

Dhlomo is not new to the magazine industry, having been at the helm of True Love for 10 years. During that time, she doubled the readership and circulation figures of the magazine.

She recently returned from the US where she completed a Masters in Business Administration (MBA) degree at Harvard Business School.

It was at Harvard that the idea for Destiny was born.

She went to school with women who were conscious of their womanliness but were also business-minded.

"These women were reading one magazine to keep up with fashion news and another to keep up with the business world," she says.

Destiny is a combination of business, fashion, beauty and lifestyle news, with business news making up 60 percent of the magazine's content.

"The magazine is geared at women who are masters of their destinies and are looking for tools to help them shape that destiny," says Dhlomo.
