The goals that gave Steve Komphela's side a win against Ghana were scored by Benoni Premier United's midfielder Bridget Motha and University of Pretoria's forward George Maluleka.
The in-form Maluleka scored the only goal against Tunisia.
Today's match is crucial for South Africa as they need to beat the Cameroonians to finish top of the log in their group.
Cameroon have four points after drawing 2-2 with Tunisia in their last encounter.
South Africa, on the other hand, have three points and all the teams have played two matches.
Komphela and his assistant Serame Letsoaka could not be reached for comment yesterday.
But Malumbete Ralethe, Team South Africa's deputy chef de mission, said yesterday that the South Africans' success over Ghana has boosted confidence in the camp.
"The players are encouraged and looking forward to beating Cameroon tomorrow (today). We urge all South Africans to continue rallying behind the team and one is confident that the players are not going to disappoint the country here."
Komphela's charges are hoping for a second medal in the AAG after they won bronze in South Africa in 1999.
Their dreams of winning another medal in the eighth edition of the tournament turned out to be a pipe dream when they were eliminated in the group stages in Abuja, Nigeria, in 2003. But it should be noted that the current underrated players are doing fairly well in Algeria considering the problems Komphela faced before the tournament.
He could not get his top players because teams refused to release their players for the event that does not fall under the calendar of the Federation of International Football Associations.
But credit should go to the likes of Maluleka and his teammates for their courageous display in Algiers.
