Tourism KwaZulu-Natal is the proud recipient of the prestigious international tourism prize, the Ulysses Award.
The award has elevated Tourism KwaZulu-Natal among tourist managers internationally.
It recognises innovation and tourism management potential.
TKZN outshone top international tourism destinations such as second-placed Brazil.
TKZN chief executive Ndabo Khoza and general manager James Seymour travelled to Madrid, Spain, to receive the award.
At the weekend, about 200 guests including government officials and tourism officials, celebrated the victory at a ceremony held at the Hilton Hotel in Durban.
Last year TKZN won the World Travel Organisation award, making it the sixth-ranked destination management organisation in the world and the first in Africa to be accredited in this programme.
TKZN board chairman Seshi Chonco said: "This is not only a major boost for the province and the country, but also positions us internationally as a force to be reckoned with."
