Steve "Chippa" Lekoelea has joined his former Orlando Pirates teammate Phumudzo Manenzhe for trials at Silver Stars with a view to joining the Tycoons.

Lekoelea started trials at Stars on Wednesday, a day after Manenzhe's arrival.

The free-kick specialist, whose two-season contract was terminated by the relegated Maritzburg United in January, is trying his luck at the African Champions League debutantes after he failed to impress at Moroka Swallows.

Manenzhe went to the Tycoons after a short stint with Bidvest Wits last season.

"It is still early to talk about signing the two players as I need enough time to assess them," Stars coach Owen da Gama said yesterday.

New players who were snatched by Stars are defender Raymond Seneo and striker Henrico Botes.

Lefa Mogaila has returned from National First Division club FC AK and Hareaipha "Simba" Marumo, who was courted by Kaizer Chiefs, has been retained. All these players have signed three seasons contracts.
