Konotela Johannes Mahlonyana was a man who knew how to live life to the fullest.
While his passing remains a shock to everyone, we were all blessed to be part of his life.
He was an active man and who did everything for his family and everyone he came in contact with.
Popularly known as Papa or Bra Joe, Mahlonyana was an ANC member who involved himself with council issues.
An active community worker, he was also an actor on the sitcom Emzini we Zinsizwa.
For 20 years he was president of the Zimele Burial Society, which further endeared him to his community.
As a member of the Ionian Choir under the late conductor Khabi Mngoma, Mohlonyana and his colleagues made beautiful music together.
He is survived by his wife, four daughters, seven grandchildren and siblings.
Mohlonyana will be buried tomorrow at Lenasia Cemetery. The service at Mofolo Hall starts at 10am.
