Two Fidelity guards were robbed by a group of armed men during a cash-in-transit heist in Klapmuts in Western Cape yesterday.

Captain Randall Stoffels said the guards were ambushed on the R44 towards Wellington after a white Mercedes Benz rammed into the cash van.

"The security van overturned and the suspects held the security officials up at gunpoint," Stoffels said.

The robbers took money bags and two pistols before fleeing in two vehicles, said Stoffels, adding that no arrests had been made. - Sapa
