The 34-year-old has been told he may not stand for the presidency of the Guinean federation because he does not fulfill a rule requiring candidates to have at least four years' experience of managing a sports association or football team, the guineenews.com website reported.
Camara represented Guinea from 1991 to 2004, including three African Nations Cup finals tournaments in 1994, 1998 and 2004.
He also played for French clubs Olympique Marseille, Racing Lens and St Etienne. - Reuters
