Maritzburg United, who are relegated to the National First Division, are likely to part company with winger Graham King before the league kicks off.

"It is not certain yet if I am staying on. Although I am contracted to Maritzburg I want to stay in the PSL," said King.

"There have been enquiries from PSL clubs and I'm confident that I will make a move before the new season begins."

King is playing for the South African Under-23 national side.

Farouk Kadodia, United's managing director, said he would not stand in the player's way, but said any team that needs his services should go through the correct channels.

"King is contracted to Maritzburg United and anybody keen on him should negotiate with the club," said Kadodia.

"Every player's dream is to play in the Premiership, and as long as those keen on King can pay the transfer fee, then we'll let him go."

The player from Mitchell's Plain said he wanted to stay in the PSL to advance his chances for a national call-up to Bafana Bafana.

King came through Ajax Cape Town's development structures and has been capped nationally at all youth levels.

Meanwhile, former United head coach Mlungisi "Professor" Ngubane has rejoined Nathi Lions and is determined to take the KwaZulu-Natal side to the elite league next season.

"I have been waiting for Maritzburg United to come back to me, but it was not my wish to go back," he said.

Ngubane added that Nathi Lions had experienced players and he believed they would make it to the top.
