Seven schools that made it into the Coca-Cola Football Stars national provincial schools playoffs are crying foul over non-payment of their prizes.

The tournament was held at Embalenhle in Secunda in Mpumalanga in April this year.

The schools still waiting for their prizes are Cloetesville Comprehensive School, Groblershoop High School, Ramotshere High School, Lindile High School, Task Academy, Doasho Secondary School and Umghele High School.

The tournament was won by Harmony Academy from Free States after beating Nolitha Comprehensive School from Eastern Cape 2-0. Schools that reached the playoffs were guaranteed R50 000 as consolation prize. Gavin Manuel, Cloetesville principal, said they enquired about their R50 000 three weeks ago.

Kassey Belluigi, Intune Communications spokesman, said the prize money for the 2007 Coca-Cola Football Stars tournament was changed in 2007 and that only three schools would benefit.
