PSL spoils 2010 spirit

While the mood for 2010 is being enlivened, the 2010 coordinators from the PSL decide to spoil that spirit by ensuring that the less disadvantaged would enjoy as little soccer as possible.

The PSL's "spin-doctoring" that the games would still be "free" does not fool anyone either, as this means those who possess satellite dishes will access as many channels as possible, including SABC and e.tv. What about those who do not have a dish?

One newspaper wrote that SuperSport's offer is far better than the SABC's by R132 million. Granted, this is business, but does the PSL care for millions who have ensured that their brand will remain for many years to come?

It's clear that this new deal was influenced by greed even if the PSL claims they will use the money for sports development. The PSL has never been stranded and its coffers have always been full, especially after the coming of Trevor Phillips.
