Flamboyant, but suspended, Lesedi FM presenter Thuso Motaung is cutting a CD and writing a book on his life after he being charged with defrauding the SABC.

The presenter, his wife Mmamotha, and a business associate were arrested late last year charged with defrauding the public broadcaster of R32million in air time sales.

The trio is out on bail and will appear on July 27 for the commencement of the trial in the Johannesburg specialised crimes court.

In March, the Asset Forfeiture Unit attached all his properties and froze his bank accounts and those of his wife. The unit attached 15 houses across the country and 29 cars, including 15 minibus taxis.

But the Johannesburg high court in April ruled that eight minibus taxis, two buses, four cars and a motorcycle be returned to their owner, Eddie Sengoza.

Last week, Motaung had his Nissan bakkie and his spaza shop returned.

His houses had been put up as surety for his bail. The state now only has his wife's BMW, and his bank account is still frozen.

His wife's bank accounts were unfrozen last week. Though she is suspended, she is still being paid a salary by the SABC.

Motaung said his CD will be out soon.

"I live on prayer. I have put my trust in the Lord," he said.

"I think my arrest was a blessing in disguise. It shows a vendetta against me."
