Unite as a team

Fifa president Sepp Blatter is unwaveringly optimistic that South Africa will successfully host the lucrative World Cup tournament in 2010.

This week he lauded the government for its role in the preparations for this historic event - the first in Africa.

It is ironic that while Blatter exudes confidence in our ability, there are certain South Africans who spew negative views about our competence. These should be viewed as prophets of doom who have no faith in their own government and the future of this country.

Organisers of this event have demonstrated the proficiency required to ensure a successful World Cup.

They now need support from true South Africans while the puppies continue to yelp adverse views about our adroitness.

United we can make it happen.
