Sensational Free State Stars goal poacher Diyo Sibisi is keen to be one of Bafana Bafana's strikers.

Sibisi, 24, from Sahlumbe, near Weenen in KwaZulu-Natal, was the leading goalscorer at Stars and in the National First Division last season with 19 goals from 12 matches.

He told Sowetan yesterday his biggest ambition is to score more goals next season and feature for Bafana in the 2010 World Cup.

"Scoring goals is my job and I will be doing the same next season. I know the Castle Premiership is not like the MGL, but the fact that we made it to top flight football means we deserve it and I can promise you that we will be equal to the task," he said.

Sibisi said he managed to bang in 19 goals last season because he had experienced players who gave him sage advice.

"Duncan Lechesa and Sifiso Vilakazi were always there for me. They would advise me on how to position myself for good scoring opportunities and it worked. It's true that you can't buy experience and those guys were great to me," said Sibisi.

Though he has not received any offers from other clubs, he would like to play for Amakhosi.

"Chiefs are the team I would like to see myself playing for, before trying my luck overseas. But at the moment, I am dedicated to Stars," he said.

Sibisi is confident that 15 games in the elite league will be enough to convince the national selectors.

"I can assure you that after 15 matches in the PSL, the national coach would have seen me and hopefully call me into the team. My main ambition is to play for my country in 2010, hopefully helping Sibusiso Zuma," he said.

Meanwhile, Ea Lla Koto have secured the services of highly rated striker Amos Ngcobo, who joins them from Durban Stars.
