PSL move is long overdue

I would like to congratulate the PSL for making the best business move regarding soccer broadcasting in South Africa.

I would like to congratulate the PSL for making the best business move regarding soccer broadcasting in South Africa.

For too long viewers have been subjected to mediocre soccer coverage and forced to swallow poor analysis.

I will never forget the day Pirates and Wits were playing at the Royal Bafokeng stadium about four seasons ago. After 15 minutes of the match we were told that there was a technical problem. We were never given any explanation. This is only one example of the SABC's unprofessional behaviour.

The SABC has run out of creativity and should bring in new soccer presenters and analysts.

As for Dali Mpofu, he is arrogant and must be reminded that the pro-government SABC does not have lifetime rights to broadcast soccer.

Whatever legal recourse Mpofu thinks they have over the PSL must not be exercised through the SABC.

And since when has the broadcaster cared about the poor when screening games? What happened to the Mvela league - the FCAK and AmaZulu game on Wednesday?

The world is changing and people will not remain poor forever.

So, if SuperSport is willing to bring the necessary changes, so be it.
