Jamming Sundays is the new buzz word in entertainment in Jozi today.
Lovers of jazz and adult contemporary music will have a secluded spot far from the madding crowd where they can enjoy their favourite music twice a month.
Set to perform at the much- talked-about venue on June 24 is Siphokazi, legendary muso and natty dresser Sipho Hotstix Mabuse and rising Afro-soul- jazzman Max-hoba Maponya.
Jamming Sundays' coordinators will pander to the whims of enthusiasts in the genres through the smooth sounds of local heavies such as Paul Hanmer, McCoy Mrubata, Selaelo Selota and Lira, among others.
Instead of running around trying to find a way to round off a brilliant weekend, the discerning people of Gauteng will have a stunning entertainment option.
And, most importantly, the venue will provide a brilliant meeting place for all those interested in networking and who want to catch up or discuss business, the state of the economy or politics with like minds.
Equally fascinating is the set-up of three different lounges at the venue. The Village is ideal for those people who want to shuttle between the main floor and the dance floor.
The main floor allows you to see and experience the live performance in person.
All three venues are connected through audio visual screens so you can see what's going on in all the rooms.
The series allows for upcoming artists to perform alongside established ones.
This is a great opportunity for young up-and-coming musicians to perform in front of a large crowd of movers and shakers.
Breaking-in the venue was the Jazz Band. It launched the venue on June 3. These are youngsters who were put together by the late Moses Molelekwa's dad, Taiwa Molelekwa.
Mabutho "Kid" Sithole said: "So, after people have gone to church in the morning and had their Sunday lunch with their families, they come to Jamming Sundays to unwind."
While great music is the main attraction, a free welcome drink, a light meal and a warm, inviting environment are all part of the experience too.
Tickets cost R140 and the party of your life happens at Party House next to the Coca- Cola Dome, Gate B, corner Northumberland and Olievenhout Roads, North Riding.
The doors open at 3pm.
