Safa in Limpopo has called for closer cooperation among all stakeholders in the 2010 World Cup in the province.

Nakedi Lekota, Safa Limpopo president, said they were regularly briefed by the Limpopo provincial government on the World Cup developments.

However, Lekota was quick to point out that the same cannot be said about the Polokwane Municipality on matters pertaining to 2010.

"I must say we appreciate the provincial government's effort to keep us up to date with the preparations, including the 2010 World Cup Inter-Ministerial Committee," he said.

"There is absolutely no cooperation from the municipality of Polokwane. We feel that they should involve Safa."

Lekota said one of the things they wanted to discuss with the municipality was a review of the 15 percent of gate takings it charges for the use of the Peter Mokaba Stadium.

"I have researched the payment required and Polokwane is very expensive," he said.

"It will be difficult for Polokwane to attract Bafana Bafana, Banyana Banyana, Under-23s, Majimbos and Amajita as long as we are required to pay 15 percent."
