Mpumalanga's readiness to host games during the Fifa 2010 World Cup will be tested later this year when they host the Cosafa Under-20 tournament.

The junior tournament, which inolves 13 southern Africa countries, will be played in Nelspruit between November 29 and December 12.

The countries are Zimbambwe, Mozambique, Botswana, Zambia, Lesotho, Mauritius, Swaziland, Madagascar, Angola, Malawi, Namibia and Seychelles.

Brains Zulu, Mpumalanga Safa secretary, said: "This is a huge challenge for us. We need to host it successfully and show that we are ready to host games in 2010."

Zulu said the province would host the tournament from this year to 2010.

Mpumalanga bid to host the tournament last year but lost out to North West.

Zulu said the games will be played in KaNyamazane, KaBokweni and Nelspruit Rugby field. It will be for the first time the province hosts such a tournament.
