Midrand police claim they are still investigating a case in which a pregnant woman's assault by cops was captured on video.
Two months after the incident, Paulina Mathikge, 25, of Klipfontein, Midrand, is still completely in the dark and police seem no closer to taking the culprits to court.
Mathikge was five months pregnant when she was assaulted by members of the organised crime unit during a raid on Blue Gill Importers in April.
The assault, recorded on closed-circuit television, clearly shows a policeman in plain clothes pulling Mathikge by the collar across the counter, smacking her and then dragging her to the front desk.
Mathikge opened a case of assault the same day at Tembisa police station, but her attackers have not been brought to book.
Tembisa police spokesman Jethro Mtshali said the investigation was continuing.
"But it has been two months since the incident, and nothing has been done.
"I expect them to pay for what they did to me," she said.
Mathikge said she had not been called to appear in court nor had she been contacted by the investigating officer in the case.
The police unit suspected Mathikge's employer, Louis Pestana, owner of Blue Gill Importers, of selling stolen goods. Cops questioned staff about stolen clothes allegedly sold at the shop.
Mathikge said police accused her of "having an attitude" and keeping information from them when she denied knowledge of the stolen goods.
The expectant mother said police hurled abuse at her and threatened to shoot her.
