LUSAKA - Students at the University of Zambia smashed vehicle windows and blocked roads during the second night of rioting in protest against a strike by their lecturers, police said yesterday.

Police fired tear gas to disperse the angry students and arrested dozens for their role in the violence, police spokesman Wazakaza Nguni said.

"They started stoning vehicles in the night but we managed to push them back into the campus," Nguni said. - Sapa-AFP
