Sydney "Metro" Hadebe has publicly apologised to Mpumalanga soccer fans and administrators for selecting his squad and called it an Mpumalanga Invitation XI.

A row erupted over the selection criteria for the invitation side that beat Moroka Swallows 3-1 in KaNyamazane a fortnight ago.

This was after all three Mpumalanga Safa regions' players were not included in the team because only players from Ehlanzeni were selected.

"We want to apologise to whoever was hurt by the whole issue. Mistakes are always part of life and we learn by committing them," said Hadebe. - Richard Nkosi
