Designing career nipped

Sowetan Reporter

Mpho Christian Mmusi was a gifted fashion designer whose life was brutally cut short on Monday night.

What makes his ending so tragic is that he was killed when he was caught in the crossfire when unknown gunmen stormed a shopping complex in Midrand in a botched armed robbery.

Born in Soweto on April 14 1970, Mmusi matriculated at Tswelopele High School in 1990.

He trained as a fashion designer and proceeded to carve out an illustrious career in the fashion industry for himself.

Together with two partners, he opened the popular and successful clothing outlets, Papillon and Magnifique.

Mmusi, who is survived by his mother, two brothers and a sister, will be buried tomorrow at Itsoseng Cemetery in Itsoseng township, Lichtenburg in North West, at 8am.

The service starts at 7am.
