Adams has his ducks in a row

Malvory Adams, where have you been? It's been such a pleasure to read your well thought-out series of articles in the sports section. One cannot disagree with or challenge any of them.

The problem in our country is the so-called experts. They have not been challenged and they are deliberately distorting our history. Do not excuse their lack of knowledge because of past barriers. They do not appreciate or acknowledge that we blacks are equally talented.

They either do not read or they chose to ignore our talent in sport. They also seem to know more about Indian, Pakistani and West Indian heroes than our own.

What breaks my heart is that these so-called experts have easy access to the media, mostly electronic, where they abuse our sport heroes to no end.

Hats off to Herschelle Gibbs. He was set up for failure by Peter Pollock and the then selection team who asked him to open the batting at international level when he was at best a number four. But he came through. A young Makhaya Ntini was blamed for all the ills we suffered Down Under under the late Hansie Cronje.

There are too many negative comments about our sports heroes so please bring us more good stuff.
