The much-punted MTV Movie Awards will be screened today , on its MTV base.
Premiering today, the star-studded awards ceremony is going to be beamed across Africa, on DStv's MTV base, on Channel 88 at 10pm, and MTV on Channel 85, tomorrow at noon.
Viewers will be treated to shocks, surprises and belly-laughs.
After all, how many t imes do you get to see a list of Hollywood stars send themselves up, including the famous movie spoofs that air throughout the show?
Even the trophy demonstrates the show's irreverent stance. The prize is a gilded bucket of popcorn.
Viewers' participation by way of voting, was going to be on 10 voting categories such as best kiss, best fight and best summer movie, among others.
Stand-up US comedienne, actress and writer Sarah Silverman will compere the event.
There's no doubt she will keep the viewers entertained with her brand of provocative comedy.
The glittering occasion was taped at the Gibson Theatre in Universal City, California, last week.
"Sarah's irreverent, no-holds-barred sarcasm and humour have made her one of the top up-and-coming comedians in the industry," said Alex Okosi, vice-president and general manager, MTV Networks Africa.
"Sarah is just the person to orchestrate the madness and keep everyone guessing about who'll be her next target."
From stand-up comedy to film and television, Silverman has seen her share of success, and this year has certainly been the year of proof.
Recently, her show The Sarah Silverman Program launched on Comedy Central in the US, scoring high ratings and rave reviews.
Unbelievably, she has been picked for a second run later this year.
Silverman also made a splash with the feature-length film version of her one-woman show, Sarah Silverman: Jesus is Magic.
She recently co-starred in the feature film, School For Scoundrels opposite Billy Bob Thornton and John Heder.
As if that was not enough, she also starred in Jeff Garlin's I Want Someone to Eat Cheese With, and the acclaimed The Aristocrats.
Before that, she co-starred opposite Jack Black, Mike White, and Joan Cusack in The School of Rock.
Meanwhile, Rihanna features Jay-Z in their hit song Umbrella on MTV tomorrow.
