The South African Emerging Sevens squad will wrap up their training at the High Performance Centre in Pretoria today ahead of the prestigious Safari tournament in Kenya this weekend.

The defending champions will take part in the tournament in Nairobi on Saturday and Sunday.

Denver Wannies, the team's coach, said yesterday: "The players have been shaping up for the past two days at the training sessions held in Pretoria."

He said they were finalising their game plan yesterday before leaving for Nairobi tomorrow.

South Africa will be gunning to defend their crown for the second time in a row.

Last year they beat the 2005 champions, Kenya, and conquered the Zimbabweans in the final. Other teams expected to feature in the yearly tournament include Zambia, Ivory Coast and Fiji.

The South African squad: Johan Jackson, Frankie Horne, Zolani Mofu, Lubabalo Mzwakali, Ziniko Dumaphi, Denvick Davids, Deon Booysen, Norman Nelson, Cecil Afrika, Ncedo (Chester) Koyana, Thabo Mamojela, Ashwill Peters, Tembinkosi Ndamase (team manager), Wannies (coach).
