Kaizer Chiefs and Jomo Cosmos are to date the only South African clubs that have bought stands at the 2007 Soccerex scheduled for Sandton in November.

The Premier Soccer League, who have been exhibiting at this yearly event for the past three seasons, have also bought a stand.

Others are Ajax Amsterdam (Holland), Ukraine's Premier League outfit FC Shakhtar Donetsk, Pepsi Football Academy in Nigeria and the Serbian Football Association.

It will be for the first time that South Africa will host the event, which attracts the who's who of soccer in the world, as part of the build-up to the 2010 World Cup.

According to the organisers, more than 300 stands have been bought. The event is hosted by the Gauteng provincial government.

Gauteng premier Mbhazima Shilowa said they were ready to host the event, adding that it will help showcase South Africa's readiness for the World Cup.

Preparations for Soccerex are facilitated by the office of MEC for sports, arts, culture and recreation, Barbara Creecy.

Most of the exhibitors from last year's Soccerex in Dubai have already booked larger spaces to build on business generated and relationship developed in the past.

Johnnic Communications, owners of Sowetan, are among the media powerhouses that will exhibit their products.

The Mpumalanga government will also have its own stall, so will the Msunduzi municipality, Royal Bafokeng Holdings as well as Limpopo Tourism and Parks.

Various local and international private companies have also bought stands. The Gauteng government has signed a contract to host the event until 2010.
