Seshego is one of the biggest and oldest of the Limpopo townships and is known to have produced some of the best soccer players in the country.
And the fact that Seshego - founded in 1974 - does not have a club in the Premier Soccer League does not sit well with Morris Chokoe, a popular medical practitioner in the area.
Soccer greats from Seshego include Harris Choeu, William Makhura, Kingsley Masingi, Jackie Ledwaba, Joe Mahlaba, Solly Mokaba and Gerald Raphahlela.
The last time Seshego had representation in the elite division was in 2002 when Ria Stars folded after the PSL and Safa bought their status.
This is why Chokoe and his co-directors at Winnerspark are pulling out all stops to ensure that their club wins the National First Division Platinum playoffs.
Guided by Innocent Mayoyo, Winnerspark start their campaign to realise their dream of gaining promotion by taking on Tukkies in Tshwane tomorrow.
"We have done our homework and are ready for the playoffs, we don't expect the process to be an easy one though," said Chokoe.
"The other three clubs have some pretty good players. We are going into the playoffs with one thing in mind - go all the way to the final and win.
"We would like to see Seshego being represented in Limpopo, in particular, increasing its clubs in the Premiership from one [Black Leopards] to two.
"The massive support that we have been getting from residents of Seshego and surrounding areas during the league matches was awesome.
"We are still counting on them to help us overcome this final hurdle," said Chokoe, who is credited with turning Winnerspark around.
l The league is expected to make an announcement today regarding the other playoff match between City Pillars and AmaZulu in Polo-kwane.
The match, which is scheduled for tonight, will depend on the outcome of Pillars' arbitration after they were docked one point for fielding a defaulter.
"AmaZulu are already in Johannesburg, we have asked them to remain here until the arbitrator makes a ruling," said Andrew Dipela, PSL general manager.
"Depending on the outcome, we may be forced to do a new fixture, but I must say we are confident that the playoffs will be completed by the deadline of June 24."
Meanwhile, Dynamos have appealed against the dismissal of their case that FC AK and Pillars fielded defaulters.
"All that we want is for the spirit of fair play to prevail, we are bitter that we did not qualify for the playoffs," said a livid Pat Malabela, Dynamos' chairman.
