BAGHDAD - US-led forces have control of less than a third of Baghdad's strife-torn neighbourhoods, despite thousands of reinforcements brought in only four months into the security crackdown in the capital.

The news of this assessment came as the US casualty toll soared, with the military announcing the deaths of 14 more US soldiers over a three-day period ending at the weekend.

Iraqi police also said at least six people were killed and 14 wounded in three separate bombings yesterday in Baghdad. - Sapa-AP
