A group of South African Democratic Teachers Union (Sadtu) members disrupted half-yearly examinations at Batswana High School in Montshioa township, Mafikeng in North West, yesterday.

Anneke Mullign, a mathematics teacher at the school, said the Sadtu members invaded her classroom and demanded that she stop pupils from writing their exam. She refused and was threatened with death.

"I have the right to teach if I do not want to strike. I am a member of the same union that threatens to kill me. June examinations are important to pupils," said Mullign.
